Les Coney and Michigan Avenue publisher Dan Uslan hosted a private dinner with Chicago native, NBA star and Olympic gold medalist Dwyane Wade on August 19 at Gibsons Bar and Steakhouse. Wade introduced his charity Wade’s World Foundation to notable Chicago business leaders including Governor Pat Quinn, State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, Linda Johnson Rice and more. The foundation promotes education, health and social skills for children in at-risk environments. Guests mingled and sipped cocktails from a beautiful display of Crown Royal. On August 19, Santa Margherita and Top Chef Fabio Viviani searched for Chicago’s top amateur chefs during The Chicago Great Taste Challenge at the Signature Room at the 95th. Winner Colleen McConnell wowed judges with her seared scallops and pappardelle saffron sauce and scored a trip to NYC to compete in the Santa Margherita Great Taste Challenge Finale on September 24.
